Review agent

How the lightbreak review agent catches mistakes before you send

Before an issue goes out, lightbreak reads it against every source it came from. Links, photos, prices, dates. Here's a real catch from Leander Scoop.

The quick hit
  • Before you send, lightbreak reads the whole issue against every source it came from.
  • It checks links, photos, prices and dates, then tells you what to fix.
  • On a real Leander Scoop issue it opened 31 links and fact-checked 18 stories in 27 seconds.
  • A person still decides when the issue sends.

A local newsletter is a lot of small facts. A price on a listing, a date on an event, a pay range on a job post. One wrong number and readers notice. Checking every one by hand is the slowest part of putting an issue together, and it's the part that gets rushed on deadline.

That's what the review agent is for. Nothing goes out wrong.

What it checks

  1. 01
    Links

Every link in the issue gets opened, so nothing points to a dead or wrong page.

  2. 02
    Photos

Each photo is checked against the story it sits in.

  3. 03
    Prices and dates

The numbers in the issue are compared with the original listing, post or calendar.

  4. 04
    What to fix

You get a short list of what's off and where it came from. You decide what changes.

A real catch

In the September 29 issue of Leander Scoop, the jobs section listed a swim instructor role at the YMCA of Central Texas, part time, at $15 to $19 an hour. The review agent opened the original listing. The job post says $15.00 an hour. It flagged the difference before the issue went out, with the listing it checked against.

That's the kind of mistake that's easy to make and hard to spot at 7am.

Where it fits in an issue

lightbreak pulls in the stories, writes each one in your voice and builds the issue. You preview exactly what readers get. The review agent runs before you push the issue to Beehiiv or ActiveCampaign.

A person still sends it

The review agent tells you what to fix. It doesn't send anything. The same goes for AI agents connected over MCP: an agent like Claude or ChatGPT can build an issue, have lightbreak write each section, run the review and push a draft, but a person still decides when it sends.
